About

A century ago our ancestors knew how to use household remedies in a preventive way to promote health and wellbeing with plants found in the wilds or gardens of their own backyards. Today, much of this knowledge has been lost due to advances in the modern allopathic medicine system. Due to current challenges for some Americans to have sufficient health insurance there is a renewed interest in ways that plants can be used to assist in the prevention of physical discomforts due to colds and viruses. Mother Nature offers us some of the most potent and effective remedies for winter cold and flu season right in our own kitchen pantries.  By learning to view food as medicine we can help to increase support for the immune system through the inclusion of certain herbs and spices in our daily cooking as well as create delicious and unique remedies for specific ailments like sore throats, coughs, flu symptoms and fevers.

This is a demonstration class but recipes, an informative handout, and samples will be given for you to experience and try in the class.
